Our Story
Our roots go back to the early 1980s, starting in towbar service and fitment. In 2010, the business evolved into Towbars Australia and has since grown into a nationally recognised supplier, now part of Mercury Australia’s distribution network.
Why DIY Towbar Kits?
The idea came directly from our customers. We heard from people, especially in remote areas, who were limited by choice, given little advice, and often paying premium prices. We knew there had to be a better way. DIY towbar kits became our solution: high quality, accessible, and supported no matter where you are in Australia.
How We’ve Grown
We started small, offering just 10 DIY towbar kits for popular vehicles via eBay. Demand quickly grew.
Today, our online store offers complete kits for over 3,000 Australian and European vehicles, with thousands of customers across Australia, from Western Australia to Tasmania and the tip of Cape York.

Going online allowed us to reach customers everywhere, especially those in regional and remote areas who needed better access, better advice, and better value.
